The adapter plates mounts directly to the back of an existing v-mount plate. The v-mount model provides two p-taps to allow v-mount operators to power additional accessories via the p-tap ports. The G-mount model switches the v-mount setup to g-mount to allow use with g-mount battery packs and gain the ability to power extra accessories through the one p-tap.
