With a beautifully slim pancake design, the RF 28mm F2.8 STM lens is a full frame RF lens made to be lightweight and compact. It is an ideal lens for travel photography, landscapes, street photography and everyday life thanks to its combination of size, focal length, fast f/2.8 aperture and advanced coatings. Carefully placed precision moulded (PMo) elements inside the lens and in-camera corrections work together to deliver images that are full of detail and sharpness, making this lens an excellent all-rounder for wide-angle views wherever you go.
New shaped optics
The RF 28mm F2.8 STM incorporates Canon’s precision Molded (PMo) lens elements which consist of a very small front element and a large rear element. The large rear element increases resolution and decreases optical aberrations, usually caused by a large element at the front. The effective placement of three PMo lens elements achieves excellent rendering capability and compactness, while also keeping the number of internal lens components to a minimum.
