  • Be more creative with a constant f/2.8 aperture - Achieve incredible results with superb depth-of-field control, even when light levels drop. A 24-105mm focal length and 5.5-stop Optical Image Stabilizer (8-stops co-ordinated IBIS and OIS) sets new standards for video and stills capture.
  • Capture sharp, high contrast images - Four UD elements correct chromatic aberration while three Aspherical lenses negate spherical aberrations. Rely on ASC and Super Spectra Coating to reduce ghosting and flare while Fluorine protection on the front element helps reduce dirt on the lens surface.
  • Adjust aperture faster and more intuitively - Use the Iris Ring when shooting video for manual aperture control and enjoy a smooth and quiet operation. A lock release switch enables the Iris ring to be locked into the Auto position for photography, and unlocked for smooth aperture adjustments, perfect for filmmaking.

5.5-stop Optical Image Stabilizer (8-stops co-ordinated IBIS and OIS) sets new standards for versatile stills and video.
  • Fast auto focus for video and stills - Dual Nano USM motors perform equally brilliantly for both stills and video, enabling a professional electronic parfocal focus capability while zooming, and focus breathing suppression to maintain a consistent field-of-view when shooting movies.
  • Shoot with confidence and flexibility - Get in tight to your subject and focus down to 0.45m for that frame-filling close-up. Two customisable lens function buttons and a useful Control Ring give further control options such as pausing AF when in AF Servo mode.
  • Zoom smoother and remotely - Operate the optional Power Zoom Adapters PZ-E2 or PZ-E2B by hand or remotely, via Canon's Camera Connect / EOS Utility applications, Browser Remote function or over IP using Canon’s XC Protocol with compatible cameras. The 20-pin interface (PZ-E2B only) offers additional support for Canon's Zoom / Focus demands and Zoom Servo Grip.
