The AX1 Pixel Tube is a completely wireless, IP65 waterproof, RGBW, pixel controllable, tube shaped lighting element, used mainly for television and film lighting as well as event production.

The AX1 has 16 pixels (or segments) which can be individually controlled, using either the Astera App or a lighting console , and the ART7 AsteraBox CRMX.

This is a kit including the Astera AX1 Pixel Tube charging case and 8 Pixel Tubes. The charging case comes with 16 brass studs. The studs have 1/4″ male threads on one end and 3/8″ threads on the other.

Bluetooth Bridge
To control lights from the AsteraApp, a Bluetooth Bridge (=BTB) is required. It consists of “Bluetooth” for the connection with the App and “Bridge” which means that it transmits commands to the other Astera lights. Both parts include 2-way communication so the lights can send information back to the app.
Until 2020 the AsteraBox was the only Bluetooth Bridge but recently Astera has been building the BTB technology into more and more lights. We still recommend an AsteraBox as it has a longer battery life and is more portable but for smaller setups or if no AsteraBox is available, a BTB-enabled light also works well.
  • Seamless Runtime - To ensure that your light’s batteries last throughout your entire production, you can select how many hours they have to last. This limits the light’s output to a level where you get the maximum brightness to achieve the selected runtime.
  • Anti-Flicker - Via the AsteraApp the PWM frequency of the LEDs can be adjusted to ensure that there is no interference with standard cameras. In addition, the light has a green/magenta balance to minimize post-production work.
  • Emergency Light - With this innovative feature, the lights can double as a battery-powered emergency light. When activated, the fixture can detect power loss and instantly switches to bright white light to illuminate the venue.
  • Anti-Theft - When enabled, the integrated theft alarm gives visual and audible alarm if lights are being moved. In addition, the AsteraApp also shows the alarm.
  • Talkback+ - Detect all available lights, set them up, check their status, configure DMX addresses and DMX profiles.
  • Effects - Quickly build programs out of colors and effects, trigger them or make them match a beat.
